We are hearing about Spring Hill alot now. We looked at a house this past weekend at McKay's Mills and liked the area. I am planning on working at either Vanderbilt, Centennial or Williamson County Medical. What would be the best place to live commute wise? Which of the cities is the best to raise a family in? We have an 8 year old and an 8 month old. Schools are also a big factor. Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Franklin and Brentwood are much more convenient than Spring Hill with more expensive housing. Franklin is a very broad area so you would have to be in the right area of Franklin. Both Franklin and Brentwood are in the Williamson County School System(Franklin also has a Special School District for elementary/middle school for the Franklin area near the main town). Parts of Spring Hill are in Williamson County and parts are in Maury County. Williamson County is generally considered(based on test scores and ranking) to have the better school system of the two. Spring Hill is less convenient than the other two areas but has much less expensive housing. If you worked at Centennial or Vanderbilt and cost of housing was not a major issue then Brentwood would be your most convenient area. However, most of your houses in Brentwood will be from 400k and up.
To give you some distance perspective, Brentwood is about ten miles from Downtown Nashville, Franklin is about twenty miles from Downtown Nashville, and Spring Hill is about thirty miles from Downtown Nashville. Rush hour traffic to Nashville from Spring Hill and parts of Franklin can entail as mush as a 45 minute to 75 minute ride.
Hope this helps.
