Hello. Moving to nashville, I work at the airport. Wheres best safe place to live. Girlfriend and I both work at airport, in our late 20s. Like nightlife, bars, and are adventurous. Like hiking and nature. Heard nashville has hidden cool local spots, waterfalls and lakes. Where a nice spot to rent then invest money in either a house or condo. On average what do utilities come out to. How much is car insurance. What should I expect. Thanx

Car insurance depends on your driving record, how many miles you drive a year, and what kind of car you drive. If you have insurance now, just call an agent here in Nashville who sells the same company (Allstate, Farmers, Allstate, etc) to get an idea. They can give you quotes over the phone.

I would begin at Donelson & Hermitage, just north adjacent to the airport. Donelson Pike runs thru the airport.

Not that far from downtown & nightlife. You may have to look up state parks for waterfalls. That part of town is also easy to hop on I-40 to check out Knoxville, Gatlinburg & smoky mountain parks in east TN.

How about if I wanted to buy something between 200-300,000. Same neighborhoods? Probably have kids within next couple years, so good schools would be interest. Do people send there kids to private schools here? Are they expensive?

If kids are in the mix, check out Mt. Juliet which is nearby Wilson County. $200,000-$300,000 is a big range and there are homes in Mt. J that would certainly fit your need. That area has really good schools compared to Nashville/Davidson County. Certainly can find plenty in the Donelson and Hermitage area for that. Andrew Jackson Elementary gets pretty good ratings. If you opt to live in Hermitage, check to see that you're zoned there.

There are certainly many good private schools around. Donelson Christian Academy, Mt. Juliet Christian Academy come to mind in the area.

Friendship Christian School in Lebanon is a good private school but depending on where you live can be quite a drive. I know tons of people that went to DCA (Donelson Christian) and they're all from Hermitage or Mt. Juliet.

Now that I read about this it's funny how down here Christian schools and Private schools are generally the same thing a lot of the time. Out of the people I know that went to DCA or Friendship, zero of them are particularly Christian at all. They were just sent to those places by their parents instead of public schools.

Unless your making a huge profit on your house, Uncle doesn't take a cut of your house sale. If I remember correctly, you can profit 250,000 before you have to deal with that issue. Use to be a lot different 10 years ago.
