$70 for a family of 4 seems a bit steep for Christmas lights.

Well, it's a botanical gardens . . and it's trying to be a year round destination. There is a mansion with art and a Christmas tree and opulent decorations AND the reindeer! The normal entrance fee is $14. I've been there at night for the Chihuly exhibit and of course, Bruce Munro's lovely "Lights". The Jellystone 'Drive Through" Christmas lights are $25 per car. So, yes, this is more expensive, but there's more to it. Plus there's a "support the arts" element to it.

Many years ago, I was in Australia and the Sydney Zoo tried out a "Night Zoo" option which sounded like fun! Koalas are nocturnal so I thought it would be fun to see them at night. LITTLE DID I KNOW that they manipulate the lights for the koalas so that they would be awake during the DAY for the tourists.

Oh well . . . . I guess reindeer would be nocturnal too? Or Santa would have to use koalas?

I think Opryland's biggest attraction, besides their lights, is the shopping.

Paying $ 25 to drive thru a campground isn't the draw, it's Opryland itself.

While Cheekwood is pretty, Reindeers & Smores' won't motivate most people to drive out there.
