Default Which part of Nashville is the best to live?

Any suggestions on which parts of the city of Nashville are good to live? I know Hillsboro Village is nice, what is the rental scene like there?

Hillsborough village is of course down the block from Vanderbilt University so expensive. Some areas that are going through redevelopement and nice to liv e are 12th avenue south , south of Wedgewood near Sevier Park and East Nashville east of Gallatin Pike / Main street to the Cumberland river and Shelby park on the east. A lot of musicians and artists live in this area as do my wife and I. We rent a 2 bedroom 2 bath for 850.00 a month, elsewhere in Nashville that would cost you about 1,200.00 a month. Belmont neighbor hood between West End and west of 12th avenue south and south of Belmont University is nice too. Stay away from Antioch and Hickory Hollow mall area as this is our third world nation area with the gangs to go along with it.

Thank you so much for the help. Every bit of advise is extremely helpful. I'm really leaning towards East Nashville. Looks like a great area. Thanks again and Take Care.

Dickerson Rd is a vibrant, and diverse community. But most of all, it's safe.

Umm....I would go just north of town. Maybe the Goodlettsville, Hendersonville area. I would NOT(JMO) go to the east nashville area. That is the one area I always see & hear about on the news with the crime & such. Goodlettsville(northern, NOT madison area), Ridgetop/Springfield/Millersville, are also good areas to live in. This is just the better livign areas I have noticed in my 7+ yrs of living here. (G'ville area) Good luck on your move.

WHY NASHVILLE? Unless it is school, music or you are being transferred...why would you WANT to live in Nashville. I lived there twice and in very nice parts of town. My car was broken into. My apartment building was broken into. Someone attempted to drag my car off with a chain.

If you HAVE to live in Nashville, live far enough out (Mt. Juliet) where you don't have to dealwith the element. It ain't even music city anymore. The business is just a shell and a few CMA and fanfare events. Even Nicole Kidman doesn't have any taste.

Want to move to Tennessee to live and experience natural beauty? EASTERN TENNESSEE.

Good luck my friend.

Thanks for the info! What are the best schools in Goodletsville and Hendersonville?

Witty, but for unsuspecting newcomers, TNLove is being extremely sarcastic. Stay away from Antioch, too.

Thank you so much for clearing that up Blondie. It is so hard to get a sense of these nighborhoods being 2000 miles away, and I was most certainly unsuspecting of the sarcasm. Unfortunately, that is the downside to written humor, sometimes we miss it entirely without the nuances of traditional conversation to guide us. Thanks again for the clarification, it is very much appreciated.
