Looking for work in Music City
Hi everyone,
Yup, here is another one....moving to Nashville and I'm hoping that I can get some help finding a job as a legal secretary. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone have any staffing service connections? I was already told that because I am coming from out of state, that my resume wouldn't even be looked at but there has to be something for me! Is the job market really that slow there?
Stay tuned for my next request....looking for a place to rent! Coming soon!

Slow job market in Nashville? We have one of the best job markets in the country. If you can't find a job here, you aren't trying. Get on Monster, CareerBuilder, The Tennessean online, etc., and start sending out that resume. Do some research on major employers in the area and send it their way too. The more lines you cast, the more bites you'll get.

I'm in complete agreement. I'm not moving to Nashville until Mid-march, yet I've already had two interviews with a second round interview on Monday plus another new company interested in me. I'll be talking to them on Monday as well.
I work in finance, but from what I can tell, Nashville is exploding with jobs.

Why is everyone running from Tampa/Florida? Is it true what I've heard about homeowners and hurricane insurance increasing 1000% over the past seven years, and property taxes going through the roof? We've always planned on moving to the Gulf Coast, but are also heavily considering the Nashville area.

Craig's List
Wow, I hadn't even thought about Craig's List. Thanks for the tip! And thank you everyone else for your help. I feel better now about the job market and I hope there will be one for me when I get there.
