Chattanooga is the closest one I know of, about 125 miles southeast of Nashville.

Default Not in Nash, that I know of...

There's an okay one in Gatlinburg, but the mack daddy is in Chattanooga. Go for the weekend and enjoy the Children's Museum and IMAX. In season, the ball park is right there by the hotels- just walk up the stairs and you're there.

Chattanooga is great. I'd drive up from Atlanta all the time as a kid for it.

There's a restaurant in Opry Mills which has some sort of aquarium. I've never been to it but all my friend who have children say the kids just love it. I don't remember the name of it. That might work if you can't make a drive elsewhere.

As other have mentioned, the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga is a great place to take kids.

Also, be sure to take the kids to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. At least I think that's the name of it now; it used to be the Cumberland Science Center.

The restaurant in Opry Mills is called Rain Forest. It's a jungle themed restaurant. Here's a link to some reviews.

Here is a link to the aquarium restaurant at Opry Mills Mall, too. We've seen it when we were visiting, but have not eaten there.

No, it's not the Rainforest Cafe. I think BNB has the right link to the place I was thinking of.
