Default Area between Brentwood & Antioch

Looking at some condos specifically at Huntington Ridge - this looks right between Brentwood & Antioch, between Edmonson Pike and Nolensville Pk. Any thoughts on this area? Address says Nashville, but is this too close to Antioch with regards to safety? Thanks

That area is perfectly fine. That's the Nipper's Corner area and, though a short drive away, is not Antioch.

In my opinion, you have to take some of these strong warnings against Antioch, Madison, and other neighborhoods and their surroundings with a grain of salt. I know people often mean well on this board but I believe the fear rhetoric about certain neighborhoods can be a bit overzealous and unrealistic. There's no reason to be afraid of your own shadow in Antioch much less the Nipper's Corner area which is a nicer neighborhood. One has about as a little chance of being a victim of random crime in that area as they do a couple of miles away in Brentwood.

We lived on Huntington Parkway, really close to Amalie for about 2 years. You can't beat it for convenience! Easy to get anywhere, especially if you use the back streets. (Old Hickory can get quite busy at rush hours, but it's pretty easy to get avoid it.) We had no problem with crime. The main reason we moved was because Huntington Pkwy was so busy, and we have a very young child. We decided a cul de sac was best for us for now, so we moved, but we're still in the general area, just a few miles on down Nolensville Road toward Nolensville. I must say I do miss how easy it was to get to I-65 from the Nipper's Corner area.

I'd recommend it as well. I've got friends that have lived there for more than twenty years, and they are very content. The complex sits up on a ridge line, so if you get the right one, you'll get a view that goes for miles.

Thanks to all! Mark - your friends that have lived in the complex for 20 yrs...I've got a couple kiddos, how do you think that complex would fit for us? I won't be able to go down and view personally until a week or so, so any input would be great. I know they have a pool and the views do look pretty nice...but I'm thinking sidewalks, outdoor areas?

They actually have two pools, and a clubhouse. I think your kiddos would be fine, and they won't be the only ones outside playing. Go to Google maps and look at 311 Huntington Parkway, Nashville,TN, select satellite view and you'll get a birdseye view of the layout. There is some open space, and some wooded areas. There are sidewalks in the courtyards between buildings but most people who walk for exercise just walk on the drive that runs around the complex.

I dont see the value in that area but its not bad.. If its a cost thing, I might settle down. Not for any investment reasons though. There are lots of apt conplexes and it quite congested with those types of apartments... not quite south enough on Edmonson to be out of the apt. riff raff ... I would head south on Nolensville Road a bit more and look into Lenox Village. New complex. Nice area and good investement potential.

Amen. I second that entire quote.
