Depending on which part of the city. Off exit 2 on Vietnam Vets probably 45 min. In the new construction areas closer to Gallatin, an hour and getting longer with the growth out there in H'ville and Gallatin.

I live in the Long Hollow/Station Camp area driving to the downtown core and definitely can see a major increase in commute time over the span of 8 years that we've been here. Some days it's 1:20 (like yesterday with rain and multiple wrecks). Most days for me it's :45 in the morning (leaving at 6:30) and :50-1:00 in the afternoon (leaving downtown at 4:30). Its becoming increasingly more frustrating and I have been one who actually enjoys some commute time to prepare mentally for work or decompress before getting home. Not any longer.

It's not unbearable, but it is a factor to consider. And from what I've heard from coworkers living in other parts of town (Franklin, MtJ, Murfreesboro) it is getting worse for them too.

Its still not bad in Mt. Juliet..probably 30-40min most days. However, the beauty of this is that commuters can also use the Music City Star and get to downtown 25-30min if traffic ever is bad.

Hendersonville is all about the lake... recreation, restaurants and relaxation. People live there because it's easy to plop into their boats and spend a weekend day on the lake. Fishing is also decent (at least a decade ago it was), the newer homes on the lake on any of the three peninsulas will go for top dollar. It's not boring if that's your gig. People who live there know that traffic is one of the prices they pay to have a more relaxing lifestyle than many of the other large suburban towns around the metro.

That's what the entire Nashville area needs, really
