Default Mt Juliet Schools (not Wilson Co) Vs Rutherford Co Schools

The information I have received here has been fantastic. I really appreciate everyone who has contributed to help us make a better decision for our family. The directions and specifics have really put our family on the right path for making an informed decision...

I was wondering(know everyone's opinion will be somewhat different/personal) which schools and community do you feel is best and why? I am always intrigued by experiences and information that led someone to chose their community. For example, I hear Mt. Juliet Schools not Wilson Co. Schools are far better than say the High School of Wilson Co. Same with the middle school situation. Rutherford Co. schools Rockvale, Blackmon, Riverdale? Yes, I know I must visit but I would love some feedback to think about.

We are still considering Nolensville, Mt. Juliet, and Murfreesboro. The commute daily to 1-24 Harding Place MetroCenter is a huge consideration as well as long term school situation for our young daugher (9Yrs. old) Thank you for your feedback

I dont know much about nolensville, so i cant impart any information. Hopefully someone who lives there can give you more perspective.

Based on the work destination, i wud prefer living in mt juliet over murfreesboro.

I looked at both areas when i was house hunting and browsed through the schools.

I think in murfreesboro, you cant go wrong with siegel, blackman school area. They also have magnet schools there that are something to keep in consideration

Mt Juliet....the lakeview elementary, mt juliet elem are my fav's in that area. I really havent heard anything negative abt the mt juliet middle or the mj high school.

My kid is real young so at this moment i have only considered elementary schools to a great detail keeping the middle and high schools into a general focus in terms of home value.

HTH!!!!

Mount Juliet does not have their own school district. The schools in Mt Juliet are a part of Wilson County Schools. All Wilson County schools are academically equal with an exception to Watertown. I would personally rather live in Murfreesboro because it actually feels like a city when compared to mt juliet.

gannman (or anybody who know the schools well!)
We are also concidering a move to TN, most probably Mt Juliet. I read some parent reviews on West Wilson Middle Schools in Mt Juliet that did not sound that favorable. Can you give me any info on how they realy compare? I got the impression that it was just that there was a much nicer culture at MJMS, administrative stuff was critizied for WWMS. But then they (WWMS) apparently got a new principal and the reviews stopped. Am I making to much out of this? We'd probably come and visit the area around Easter to get a better feel ourselves, but in the mean time any help would be greatly appreciated!
