You are right! I just got off the phone with Directv & we have to purchase the MLB package for $179. Every time I think I'm saving money, I don't.

Do you like DirectTV? I'm debating between Comcast or DirectTV. Both offer the MLB package. It's difficult to compare prices between the 2 of them, because of all the different types of fees. Plus, I want Internet and DirecTV only has DSL, which is more expensive.
Any recommendations between DirectTV and Cable?
Thanks.

Have either one of you ever tried the online MLB.TV feed? I've thought about it for Cardinals games. $90 a year all MLB games seems like a pretty good deal. I have a large monitor at home so it would be similar to watching the games on TV (I think).

I thought about it, but I don't think the resolution is that great. I also thought about streaming the video to my TV, but again, afraid of the poor resolution...

They come out with what they call Premium MLB.TV which is suppose to have a better resolution. It's a few more dollars however.

We like Directv. We have that for our 2 big televisions.
For high speeed internet, we have Comcast. For $59 a month you get the highest speed internet plus basic tv (cheaper for a package than internet alone). We have the basic cable on a small tv by our computer in case we want to watch something.

Are you sure they both offer them? I've had directv for just over a year, and I bought extra innings. However, I am quite annoyed at directv for other reasons right now, and have been looking into switching. I found some article that said as of 2007 directv had bought exclusive rights to the Extra Innings package. (how annoying!) I was looking at Time Warner Cable and they don't have it listed on their website.
I have bought individual games on mlb.tv before. I had a LOT of issues with the picture freezing, that was much worse than the resolution issues. If I go Time Warner I'd have to use mlb.tv to get my games, and I'm afraid that will be something I regret.

We're buying the MLB Extra Innings Package on Directv. I also saw that Comcast offer it.
