Default Single, black mother ALSO considering moving to brentwood

Hello, how are you? Blessed I hope, but I read that Feb of last year you were considering moving to Brentwood and was concerned with the area and I am now considering moving to Brentwood myself, because I have been recommended to do so by others that have visited the area. My question to you now that this has been a year ago, did you ever move and if so was it to Brentwood? Or possibly somewhere in Nashville? If so, can you please give me some insight on what you think about your neighborhood, the city, the school systems and most definately the churches? I am a single mother of a 3 yr old little girl and when I move there she will attending elementary school, so the environment that she will be in is a concern. Any info that you can give me will be a great help and very much appreciated. Thanks, diamondpisces!

However, I'm now ready to move to a place where I've given it more thought and that isn't as cold as the Midwest, that's still close to family, where the public schools are EXCELLENT, that's accepting of a black family, etc. My main concern is acceptance of blacks in Brentwood. I know that it is predominantly white and have great schools, but I just want to raise my kids in a safe environment in which they will be accepted in the neighborhood and school. This is my main concern. I apologize for babbling in this post, but I'm really searching for the best place for my children. I'm not overly concerned about my wants compared to my kids. In addition, are there any good multi-cultural, non-denominational churches nearby. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
