Well, honestly a lot of people who live in Brentwood aren't originally from this area anyway-there are a lot of transplants from other areas of the country so they are probably fairly tolerant of alternative lifestyles relative to people in rural areas of TN. I'm just saying he might like other areas better because Brentwood is your "suburbia"/soccer mom kinda place for the most part. Brentwood has a very educated population so I don't think anyone will spray paint their house with hate language or anything crazy like that, so no worries as far as them not being wanted in the neighborhood-it's more likely the neighbors will invite him and his "roommate" to church, haha...but I think people around Brentwood are to busy to care a whole lot anyway. I mean if he's into the suburban lifestyle then Brentwood is THE place. Otherwise, there might be other options he should check out in Nashville. And Franklin is 10X more familified (if that's a word) than Brentwood.

Many people think it's very conveniently located to a lot of different areas, so I do believe there are plenty of benefits to certain people depending on what they seek. I do actually appreciate your opinion and respect it about the benefit or lack thereof, but do want to clarify that the comment...to be in Brentwood you have to buy in Williamson County...is not accurate.

The city of Brentwood is ENTIRELY within Williamson County. Some areas of south Nashville along Old Hickory Blvd and Edmondson Pike, along with a small portion of Oak Hill, have Brentwood ADDRESSES. This does NOT mean that they are located IN Brentwood. You should be able to grasp this concept. Sheesh. If you are in Davidson County, you ARE NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM WITHIN BRENTWOOD CITY LIMITS. EVER. Jeez oh petes, lady. Isn't your job to know the facts?

I know there are all kinds of stereotypes that are said about TN, so he wants to know if being gay down there would be a problem. He and his partner would be moving together and he wants a feel for everything before he just gets up and moves. I heard TN is very much conservative and areas are tight groups. So, if anyone has any thoughts can you please state them. Also how is work down there. He has a degree in communications and would need a job. Thanks for everyone's thoughts! Oh and please don't hold back. If you don't think that TN is good for 2 gay guys to move please say so and I will pass it on. Oh and he doesn't flaunt himself being gay. He is very good looking-non fem, clean cut, drives a benz and you wouldn't even know if he didn't tell you. He would like to stay private with his partner, but would like to know how accepting people are. I actually heard of 2 people I went to school with that came up to MI because their families didn't accept them. Thanks!

That's how I understood Scottv's message, too...that 2 gay men wouldn't want to be surrounded by families and kids all the time.

It would depend. If they're a gay couple who wants to raise a family, that might be just what they're looking for.

I live in McKay's Mill in Franklin and this neighborhood is very diverse and right in your friend's price range. I think it would be a great choice for them...everyone who lives here loves it and is very friendly. We have a Publix within walking distance to most home, and we are within 3-4 mins to I-65 and all of the Cool Springs shops and ammenities. They should check it out!

My Area is in that Price range, and you would have no problems here. There are quite a few homes on the Market. I'm in Davidson, Have a Nashville Address, and am less than a half mile from the Williamson County border. I'm in Winfield Park , which is off Holt Road, off Edmonson Pike.
The houses here are all brick and vary in price because not all have the same sq footage. There is one for sale on my block and its under $400,000. I think its 3100 sq ft. Mine is much larger, so I'm not quite sure as different builders built some of the houses.

Pay attention to the schools. The Brentwood schools are some of the best in the country, go into davidson county, and the scores drop significantly, as much as 20 percent, and taxes go up. You don't always get what you pay for.
