So I’m soon to graduate from grad school, I’ll be 25, single and looking for a fun city to live in to advance my career.
My question is, what is life like in Nashville for people in their mid 20s? Dating scene, nightlife, are their plenty of things to do on weekdays and on the weekends, etc. I know it’s a destination spot for a weekend visit but are there areas where mainly locals hang out? Also, where do you see most of the growth occurring in Nashville and what part of the city does the younger crowd usually live? Any information is appreciated and thanks in advance for your help!

Tourists choose "Lower Broad" and Sobro, and somewhat Green Hills, The Gulch and Germantown.

Locals choose Midtown, Wedgewood-Houston/WeHo, Melrose, 12South, East Nashville, Germantown, Hillsboro Village/The Village, and various emerging neighborhoods. Nashville is a "neighborhood" city. As the city grows, so do newly (re)discovered areas. Now we're seeing Charlotte, The Nations, Inglewood/Riverside, and the Nolensville corridor seeing a lot of growth.

Thanks for the response. What areas are the funnest with the most bars filled with younger people (not broadway)? And are there any apartments you would recommend in that area?

Funnest is in the eye of the beholder. All will have people there.

What is your budget? Most of the newer apartments in the hot areas will run $1,300 and up.

I agree, however, it’s easier to have fun if you’re living in an apartment with other post grads than in a more family oriented building. I would say my budget is up to 1,500 a month.
