Default Female College grad-safe rental area in Nashville?

HELP!

Concerned Mom helping out daughter who is thinking of working/relocating to Nashville after college graduation. Interested in downtown living - IF SAFE. Any insights on where to live safely and have convenient access to fun in the city?
Recs on rental areas?

Downtown living is just coming back here in Nashville. For a while the supply was less than the demand and therefore it was fairly expensive. It might be somewhat less so now, but your daughter would probably be happier elsewhere. Someone mentioned the Riverfront Apartments the other day and they might be worthing checking out; they are near downtown.

If her budget can afford it, living around the Vanderbilt University area would put her closer to the nightlife while having more conveniences. Also, Green Hills. Traffic can be problematic here during rush hour, but at other times it's not so hard to get from one place to another. If someone lives around the Midtown (Vandy) area, they can take I-440 or West End/Broadway and be downtown in a relatively short time.
