I know what you mean. I have been living here for 15 years and have never found what I have been longing for. I am from phoenix and albq. and Oscars Tacos (Taco express) is the best thing so far. It is a small fast food dive but good. I on the other hand will be opening a New Mexican food restaurant called Sopapillas in Franklin. It will be opening in late January, 2010. The food will be everything that you miss in San Diego (and even more, I hope!). I promise!

Have you tried the La Hacienda Taqueria on Nolensville Rd. in Nashville? This is not related to the other La Hacienda's around town...

So, your plan for your new place's success is to be snarky to people who mention another new restaurant? Have fun with THAT.

I'm also from San Diego. My fiance (a native Nashvillian) didn't understand at first why I was so picky when it came to Mexican food. Then I took him to San Diego and now he's just like me!

The only decent place I've found so far has been Baja Burrito, but I haven't tried most of the places mentioned. So, I'm looking forward to trying them out! Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Jenn- Blue Coast and Baja are the same. Just a franchise name. Try Oscar's too.

I know what you mean about missing MX food from CA. We miss dim sum that way

It's Williamson County. No approval necessary. Just build, build, build...
