What is the Dickson area like?
Hello Everyone,
I have read some things that have put me on the edge of my seat. I have heard some bad things about Tennessee and it is making me really think if moving here is the right choice or not. Don't get me wrong, I am not going to base my life on a few opinions. I would love to hear from anyone who LIVES in Tennessee. My husband and I may be moving to the Dickson area. Can anyone can give us any information about this area? We will be moving from Ohio just outside the Cleveland area. We would love any information about weather, schools, etc.
Thank you to those who have taken the time to read this and for any who respond with information.

As far as living in Tennessee is concerned, you might want to visit the main Tennessee forum and spend a few minutes looking at the threads and comments at the top of the page (the "sticky" ones).
Remember, they are people who hate Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Paris, Rome, New York, and any other place you care to mention. There have been a few posts by people who lived in Tennessee and didn't like it (nothing wrong with their opinion; not every place is right for everyone), and there have been other comments posted by people who really don't know much about Tennesseee or living in Tennessee (there are two or three people who come around ever so often just to be insulting, or some little something has ticked them off and now they are bravely getting back at the whole state of Tennessee). Take any Internet post with a grain of salt (even mine) . . . especially if they're extremely positive, or extremely negative.

I Live in TN, and moved here from Calif.
Hi, I was born and raised in California. I came to nashville a few weeks before my 21st birthday, didn't like it @ all then, however I am 49 now and love it. I do go home to visit family and friends, but am always ready to board the plane and get back here. Nashville has changed a lot since my arrival and for the better.Theres more things to do here than when i was 21, to say the least. Depending on what you like and are interested in. Dickson is still a little remote but parts of Dickson have grown immensley. Have you been here before? I live in Donelson next to Major Airport in Nashville.I can get to any interstate from my location and Donelson a sub/of Nashville, Tn is a great place to live although I have lived in other cities here! Not many people move out of Donelson, and more people are moving here.As with other cities housing is hurting so yes there is more of a selection, we own 47 acres also in Dickson, that we just put on the Market.
Also a lot of new schools, and some good private ones as well> Good Luck Scher.
