You won't go wrong at either one. Just be advised that Stoney River's portions are Flintstonian.

I hear Stoney River's steak is among the best...but I've never been! I love J Alexanders...their glazed croissants are awesome!

I like both, but J. Alexander is more of our "any night of the week steak dinner". It is good, but we go to Stoney River for special occassions. J. Alexander has the best smoked salmon.

You'll probably go to both eventually so it's doesn't matter a whole lot which one you go to first. J. Alex's use to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I'm not quite as enthused about it as I once was. At one time I would have given it an "A", now I'd probably give it a "B+". If this is a really special occasion, I might pick Stoney River.

Stoney River, to be sure...it will be more expensive, but worth it.

I love J. Alexanders near Centenial Park. I found the one in Cool Springs to have worse service and smaller portions. Never been to Stoney River.
