I'm waiting for a call any day now from Kroger about a specific position within. While frustrated waiting for the call, I applied at WalMart, Target, Publix, etc - just willing to take anything for now. None of them have called me back. Against me though, I have no job experience (was a stay at home mom for 12 years) and just a few college credits. I'm not exactly the most easily employed person, other than entry level stuff. I also need a job that will be flexible with my school schedule - hence the retail spots and not an office/receptionist position.
We're not sure if our bowling league will start this week or not, the alley says not many joined up. I suppose starting at 6pm is not easy if someone works in Nashville. If it doesn't work out, we'll see about some of the weekend leagues they have and go that route. We both bowl (he has a 300 ring, I've yet to break 200 lol) and I love it. Most leagues have no issue with people who are not 'pro level' bowlers, but others I've come across are so nitpicky, so you never know.

Sorry you are finding it hard to find a job here. I came with one so it was easier for me. I work for Publix. I will ask tomorrow if they need help in one of the departments. It's slow right now so it's tough. What store did you apply in?

I can relate to this as well. My daughter did not move with us. She is 26 and has a life in Florida and did not want to move. Boohoo for me. It bothers her too.
