We are relocating to Franklin. I am pregnant and would like to find a good ObGyn. Any recommendations?

Do you want to deliver at Williamson County or go into town? Williamson County is fine to deliver at (although the food sucks). Private rooms etc. recently remodeled. Nice nurses (nurses are actually more important than the doc during actual labor). I used http://www.franklinwomenscenter.com/ but I have friends that have also used womens center of franklin (pretty confusing) and they are both right next to the hospital.
Baptist is where a lot of people here deliver. It is a baby factory |

I agree with the Franklin Women's Center rec. Great group, and right next to the hospital.
As for Wmsn. Med., my neighbor just delivered there 2 months ago and loved it. They followed her birth plan, allowed guests outside of regular visiting hours (per Mom's approval ), and took great care of her, her baby, and even her husband. |

Thanks for the info! I had figured I would probably deliver at Baptist, but not totally set on that. If you know of any specific docs I should talk to, let me know. I am a bit nervous about coming this far in my pregnancy without a doc. Eeek!

Yes, I agree with the above posters--I loved Williamson Medical Center--I was the only one who delivered on my day and got sooo much attention and the nurses were awesome. My room was very cozy and decorated like a bedroom and all around it was just a great experience especially for a first time mom. My doctor at the time was Dr. Stafford from Franklin Women's Center. However, she is so popular that I have even had to switch doctors now because her waiting list for appointments was so long. All the doctors I saw there were very good though. I know most people around here go to Baptist but I loved being 10 minutes from the hospital (and thank God because my baby came FAST--we wouldn't have made it if we had been driving to Baptist in the rainstorm when I went into full throttle labor!) and the experience of getting more one on one attention at Williamson Medical Center. Good luck with everything whatever you decide!

A very good OB/GYN in Nashville is Dr Anthony Trabue. He is in solo practice so you get more of a one on one care. He delivers at both Centennial Medical Center and at Baptist Hospitals. He has been in practice for about 30 years and has several young children at home so he isnt retiring anytime soon....still has to put them through college. Susanna is his nurse practioner and also his daughter. She is in her 30's and is so sweet. They are both very easy to talk to...not talking over your head.
Whenever you call his office, you talk to a person...never to a machine. The atmosphere in his office is more like family, so it is easy to talk to anyone there. I think he is the best doctor in Nashville and have been his patient for over 20 years. He has done my hysterectomy several years ago and he delivered my granddaughter a couple of years ago. If you are interested, call..... (615) 342-7425. |

Dr. Royce Adkins was my OB/GYN but Dr. Bellardo (sp?) actually delivered my little one. The practice (if I remember right) is Tn Womans Care. My mom has seen Dr Adkins for about 20 years and he has been awesome with her care. |

Dr. Dykes is Franklin is also my OB/GYN...I like her in the office--she's a straight shooter, spends time with you and explains things so we can understand... but have never had her deliver my babies...
My OB was Carol McCullough at Summit in Hermitage...she was awesome. |
