Yes, I was assuming (I shouldn’t do that you meant drag racing

DH said there is also Music City and Buffalo Valley, US40 Dragway (AKA Crossville Dragway).

Otherwise your husband would have to go into Kentucky to drag race. He said Bowling Green, KY has Beech Bend, a full-on NHRA track. It’s 1/4 mile, covered grandstands, and Lucas Oil has a big event there.

He’s pretty sure any Drag track in Tennessee is 1/8 mile.

As I commented above, for where we live, US Dragway 43 in Huntsville, AL, is the closet drag track and it’s a little over an hour, pulling the car.

I agree with those who suggested the outskirts of Murfreesboro, as that would put both of you in closer proximity to the things you enjoy

Maybe the easterly side, such as the rural areas of Walter Hill or Lascassas? I have only trail ridden those areas on horseback and that was 15 years ago; I don’t know what they are like to live in

Murfreesboro has many tennis courts including a new indoor tennis facility located at Old Fort park. I would consider looking at any of the areas on the outskirts of Murfreesboro.

Thank you for suggestions closer to Murfreesboro . I will be checking them out this week. The thought is to be 30-45 minutes from Nashville airport as there is travel in our future . We have family in Co, I’ll, NY, Fl and Pa.
He races in Va, Atlanta. Wisconsin. So it helps to be south, I guess . I think taxes and weather are our real deciding factors. We would Be closer to Daytona than NY too.

I think he races with car clubs, not drag races. We were in Charlotte speedway, Watkins glen in NY, Daytona, road America, Indianapolis. Even once in Germanys nuremburger. (Not sure of spelling, forgive me)

A little east of Murfreesboro would get you just about everything you need, including 30-45 minutes to the airport and 30 minutes to I-24 to haul the race car somewhere. Providing there are no serious accidents.

I’m not that familiar with the rural areas up there. Hopefully those that are will come in. I would start with the Walter Hill and Lascassas areas but my knowledge of them is from the top of a horse 15 years ago

I'm not sure Walter Hill or Lascassas to Airport could ever be done in 30 min. It would be best to budget 45min- 1 hour. I'm not even sure most areas of M'boro to Airport can be done in 30 min most days.

Maybe east of muf’boro gets to Knoxville airport, but I need Nashville airport as they have the best direct flights. I may need to sacrifice a little and that would be ok. I’m not as much in a hurry as husband. Visiting the area again is in my winter plans. Maybe February when it’s freezing here in NY.

I’m not much of a shopper, so I’m not sure that convenience is needed. The idea of a bit more land is trumping the convenience of Spring Hill area.. thanks.

Thanks for clarifying that

I should know better with all the traffic these days. I’ll throw my husband under the bus for my errant thinking — he drives too fast when he has to go to one of the medical centers

Haha. I drive fast too. The traffic just gets worse on I-24.
