It sounds like as a student at Belmont, you have developed an appreciation for the urban areas. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like your boyfriend has that same appreciation which can and obviously is, a source of tension. My personal suggestion is the Crieve Hall area that is located off Franklin Road around the Hogan Road area. They are older homes but not too much of a fixer up. It is close to Brentwood and still feels like you are near downtown and the prices are very affordable for a young couple starting out. You are ten to fifteen minutes to everything. It is also a great neighborhood to start a family in case the market is not so great when you get to that point in your life.

It is hard to believe but your ideals will change greatly within the next five years and so will your boyfriends. So, in the meantime, find a neutral spot that you can both enjoy. Remember, it is just a house, people buy and sell them all the time until they find the right fit, and try to take deep breaths and enjoy these years with your boyfriend while you can.

Thanks guys! I'll check out Crieve Hall...I got the impression from talking to other people that it's kind of an expensive area, but maybe I need to look into it more!

Crieve Hall sounds like it might be an excellent fit for you because of its suburban nature and proximity to Brentwood. Good luck!
