defining a career path
whats up fid,
i guess im all over the place as far as a career goes. id say im mainly interested in being a composer/songwriter and a session drummer. im not sure if i want to go back to school for music yet. i want to try and make some money at it first. all of my songwriting ventures so far have been in top 40 radio pop sort of music very easy-listening. but written on acoustic guitar, not high tech kind of stuff. i have about 4 tunes that i want to professionally record and submit to some organizations that are connected to the industry ie TAXI, pumpaudio, etc. right now im just trying to build a resume. but i want to do it in music because i have next to no interest in having a normal day job. i apply for jobs almost mindlessly because something is telling me im supposed to. but really id like to have a life in music. even if im just getting by. that i can cover my rent, bills, food to eat, and have a little extra left over is enough til i can learn what nashville is. im just beginning even though ive been playing music my entire life. i guess that's where im at. just trying to find how to make songwriting and drumming work.
