NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The first of eight Whataburger locations in Middle Tennessee will open this week with more to come this year.

The first location, located at 5055 Old Hickory Blvd. in Hermitage will open on Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. according to a company press release.

A second location in Gallatin at 1123 Nashville Pike will follow soon in the early part of this year. The Hermitage restaurant will employ 175 people and the company is looking to hire 1,300 by the end of the year.

Locations and dates for restaurant openings are as follows:

5055 Old Hickory Blvd, Hermitage, 37076 – Jan. 5

1123 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, 37066 – early 2022

1835 Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro, 37129 – mid 2022

450 TN-109, Lebanon, 37090 – mid 2022

630 S Cumberland St, Lebanon, 37087 – fall 2022

1715 Gallatin Pike N, Madison, 37115 – fall 2022

360 W Sam Ridley Pkwy, Smyrna, 37167 – fall 2022

11190 Lebanon Rd, Mt. Juliet, 37122 – fall 2022

Wow, 8 locations? I thought the Nashville area was only suppose to get 5?

I don't understand the hype surrounding Whataburger, personally.

I used to have several locations near campus when I was in college in Arizona, and it was mediocre, at best.

Carl's Junior, Jack and the Box and In and Out were all better.

Maybe the brand has gotten better over the years, but I never thought it was that great.

And no locations in Nashville. No thanks. Not driving out to those other towns for a hamburger.
