I am moving to Nashville from Indianapolis in April. I'm a 29 yr old experienced bartender with a love for live country/bluegrass/blues/rockabilly music and bars. And an equal love for vintage housing that is safe and close, but not too close to the action of the city. Anyone have advice on where to live/apply for work??

East Nashville is where you want to go. It is your age group and an "urbun-esque" neighborhood. (lots of craftman/bungalow style houses - super cute) Lots of young families/couples (Past college age) The place for night life is called 5 Points. It consists of 5 different bars.... google it.

E Nashville is a hop skip and a very short jump away from dowtown. Downtown is where you'll find a lot of the tourist attractions. Which is also where you'll find the honkytonk country bars, music, people... all the that fun stuff. (look up 2nd avenue, broadway, Demonbruen, or riverfront)

Places to live:
Hillsboro village - may be pricey?? but charming.
Green Hills - pricey
Belmeade area - Even Pricier
East nashivlle - most affordable (but probably considered more of the "bad" part of town) however, I have several freinds who live there and bought their first homes. They LovE It.

Other "areas" of Nashville:
West End (Vandy)
The Gulch
Berry Hill
100 Oaks

AS far as where to work. I'd say work in the higher end and live in the lower! Nashville is a friendly city. Good luck!
