Hiking in or around Nashville
Can anyone recommend some good hiking trails in or around Nashville? My wife and I will be in the area next weekend with our dog and we'd love to hit the trails for a relatively long, strenuous hike (5-10 miles). We're looking for something within an hour's drive of the city, preferably with some elevation gain. Any trail suggestions -- or even Web sites that could point us in the right direction -- would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edwin/Percy Warner park(s)...some "hills" but not much of what I would consider elevation gain around Nashville until you get into East TN.

Beaman Park.
Highland Trail at Beaman Park Trail | Tennessee Hikes
We don't see many other people on the trails when we hike there. Very quiet and isolated.

There is also Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Its a little over an hour from Nashville, and has lots of trails....
