You could try the Renaissance or Hilton Suites downtown. Not all rooms face the river but you can go to the end of a hallway (Renaissance) and see it all. If you do wish to brave the outdoors, there is a park on the other side of the river where we have gone for years without the crowds of downtown, just spread out a blanket and lawn chiar and open your cooler, easy in and out as well. head up woodland street away from town, can't miss it.

Most are booked up. I am staying at Holiday inn express about 4 miles out of down town.
