There's a good chance my husband will accept a job in Nashville and that we will move next summer. We have one daughter who is a rising 7th grader at a well-regarded, highly academic private school in Philadelphia. I've researched Nashville schools and am most interested in University School of Nashville, The Ensworth School, and Harpeth Hall. Which of these schools is the strongest academically? Any other information re: extracurriculars, educational philosophy, college counseling, facilities and strengths/weaknesses would be greatly appreciated as well. I'm also especially interested in learning about the cultures of these schools - information about the unique "feel" of each school and how it compares to that of the others. Any input would be extremely helpful, and we are open to suggestions of other schools to consider. Thank you!!

As I've said before in the many, many similar threads is that I would love to have been able to send my kids to University School. Ensworth is wonderful, too, though.
I would say your best bet is to visit both campuses and meet with as many people (faculty, parents, etc.) as possible to get a real feel for each school. What's best for one family might not be for yours. Shoot, what's best for one of your kids may not be best for the other! Good luck. I hope you find one that's a great fit. |

USN is adjacent to Vanderbilt Univ. in a nice urban area. This creates a "feel" that you are in a serious academic neighborhood (which it is.)
If you haven't considered it, I would also recommend Brentwood Academy in Williamson County. |
