Default Nolensville - Telephone

Hello All! I've noticed a thread or two regarding telephone service in other areas of Nashville but was wondering if anyone had any experiences in Nolensville. I'll be moving into the new house in a couple of weeks and from the Nolensville 'city' web site it shows the telephone service is provided via United Telephone. Anyone have any experience with United Telephone for the telephone/DSL service? Are there any other options--Bell South/AT&T? I could go with Comcast - probably - but am already a loyal DirectTV customer and don't really want to change that.

Thanks.

We have United. It's fine though we think it's expensive. I know a few neighbors who use other services like Comcast but I've heard that the sound quality can be spotty. I couldn't believe it when we moved from LA and called Bellsouth/At&t to get telephone service and they said they didn't service our neighborhood in east Brentwood because it was too rural. Oh we use Comcast for our internet. Don't even get me started on Comcast...ugh.

I know this is an old post, but I'm moving literally down the road and called Bellsouth/AT&T and they told me that I have to contact United Telephone for phone and dsl service. I was so mad after I called them because they have no specials or bundles, and my phone and dsl bill will now be doubled if I go with them. I don't understand the laws involved in this. I thought that phone lines were physically shared among the service providers and you could choose your service provider?

My son used to work for them, dropped their service when he moved to Murfreesboro a few weeks ago. He went with Comcast since that was the only service for internet , so decided to use it for phone also.
Do you have Comcast for internet? Comcast used to block Vonage, don't know if they still do.

To the op. I know a lot from Nolensville and that is the only company there right now.

Diane

Yes, I have Comcast for cable.

Vonage works just fine. They sent me their router, and it was very easy to get things up & running.
