Sorry Pimpy, I couldn't get a "real" job as I'm also a student, hence the retail outlet. Included in that are businesses that are thriving, that continue to thrive due to their necessity, such as Wal-Mart/Sam's, Kroger, Publix and such. Those are all hiring and one would think an adult would be a better worker than a teenager.

Something tells me a job would not have been happy with me leaving in the middle of the day due to class I'm thrilled to be working at MTSU though, it's the optimal job for me, saves gas, I know exactly where I'll need to be, etc. BTW, I stated I was only looking for work in Murfreesboro - I have no idea of the job market in Nashville, hence advising someone to speak with a recruiter in their field.

I only have my own experience to compare it to, but in Tennessee there were very few opportunities in my field. In Chicago before I even MOVED here, I had probably about 6 phone calls not long after I submitted my resume to them. I'm sure it depends on the field but comparing Chicago and Nashville is like apples and oranges, IMHO.

me too.
It's tough because they all want experience for jobs that a monkey could do-- and yet I can't apply cause I don't have the experience.
