I have heard that the way to get a good job in the Nashville area is to go through a recruiter/placement agency. I was just curious if anyone was a recruiter (or worked for one) or knew of any good agencies I could send my resume off to. I work in the IT field as a System Admin and my current company doesnt have an office in the Nashville area so I will need to find another job asap upon moving there. I did a google search and it came up with tons of different agencies so I was just trying to narrow the field down some so I can contact them and set up interviews when I come for a visit in September. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Joe, do you also recruit for Customer Service Jobs? My son works for CDW, and previously worked for Vonage in that field. He is trying to relocate here to Nashville to be near his family, but so far has had no luck in finding a job here. He really wants to leave NJ.

Diane, we certainly do! I would be more than happy to assist in any way I can. Having CDW and Vonage under his belt certainly makes him an attractive candidate. Please feel free to contact me and send me the latest draft of his resume - if at all possible.

Thank you,

Joe R. Biasella

Hey Joe, I am the process of becoming a CPA and will sit for the exam this coming spring. I am working on my MBA with a concentration in accounting at Lipscomb University and have a 4.0 GPA. I work in sales now but obviously want to make a change, which is why I'm going for an advanced degree. Think you could help in any way?

Would be happy to help. I can tell you, there is a very big demand for good accounting talent in the greater Nashville area right now. Getting the CPA under your belt in addition to an accounting MBA will open MANY more doors for you. Are you looking to get into public accounting or private, corporate accounting?

Ultimately, I want to go the private or corporate route, but if getting a few years of public accounting experience under my belt will help me down the road (which I've been told it will), I would in no way be averse to that.
