Just look at a map and go about an inch south of Nashville on I-65(about 35 miles).

Columbia is a pretty good haul from Nashville, especially considering the traffic nightmare that is I-65 between Spring Hill and Franklin.

There are definitely some projects there, but overall it is a pretty safe area, though not as "up and coming" as places like Franklin, Brentwood, Hendersonville, and Mt. Juliet.

Any particular reason you're considering Columbia?

I just noticed that townhomes seemed reasonable there.

What is your price range? There are some great condos and townhomes right here in Hendersonville. It's 12 miles from the Hendersonville city limits to downtown Nashville. Do you like water sports and the lake? I'm guessing you would really like it here.

I think I would love Tennessee since I'm a big country music fan but I haven't even visited Tennessee before but would love to atleast visit sometime.

Tennessee is indeed a wonderful state, but it's also pretty big. I think Columbia is a nice place, but like Pimpy said there are other places in Tennessee you might want to check out besides Columbia. If you're coming to TN to visit, definitely check out the Nashville area, and don't forget to head over here to the Eastern part of the state to visit the Smoky Mountains!

If you do relocate to TN, I would suggest that you rent at first. When I first moved here, I rented in Nashville. Now I am in Murfeesboro. Renting gave me the freedom to explore. There are many different parts of Tennessee and each town has it's own distinct flavor. You need to find your favorite flavor. So, I guess that means Tennessee is a type of Baskin Robbins. LOL! I am getting way off track so I will shut up now.

Steve
