Default Commute times?

Hi all,
I am new in Nashville and looking to buy a house. I work at Vanderbilt. Currently I am renting out in Bellevue and I don't mind that drive, Just curious what the commute is like in morning traffic from places like Franklin or Hendersonville or Sylvan Park. Or if there are places closer to town with affordable houses. I am glad I have lived and rented here for a bit to throw out the whole draw of new builds and low prices in Antioch. Anyone with a clue about commutes from any of the areas around Nashville it would be much appreciated! thanks!

A commute from Franklin or Hendersonville will be further than you are making now and take a little longer, but many people make the commute from both of those suburbs to Vanderbilt or surrounding areas. It will depend on where you are in both of those suburbs as to how long the commute will be. Both areas can get a little spread out, so the further away from the Interstate your home is, the longer it will take you from Franklin or Hendersonville. Sylvan Park would be the easiest commute for you. It is very convenient to Vanderbilt and the West End area. If city living is what you're after, that will be an excellent choice. If you're looking more towards suburbs, Bellevue offers the most affordable housing, followed by Hendersonville, then Franklin as the most expensive of the three. You will hear varying opinions on which commute people would rather do. I've heard several say they'd rather commute from the north side (Hendersonville) and others say they think Franklin is the easier commute. Either way will have traffic. I do work in all three areas from time to time and to me, it seems like the South side is a little easier to maneuver through the traffic, but again, others will disagree. They might just be close enough in comparison to explain the differences in opinions.

Commute time from Exit 2 in Western Hendersonville to the north side of downtown (via 386, 65s & Ellington Parkway) is about 20 minutes (from entry on to the 386). I would imagine that Vandy would be another 15-20 minutes further during drive time. If you live further in to Hendersonville, each onramp along the 386 will tack on 2-5 minutes to your commute plus additional drive to to get to the 386 from your house.

I commute downtown from west Franklin and it takes me 30 minutes door to door unless there is an accident. I leave for work at 8:30 and leave the office around 4:20

Hello...
I'm a girl from Italy. I'm planning to come to Nashville and stay at least one year. I'm a student in audio engineering and opera and both my school are in the west end area.
I've heard it's not so nice living in some areas of Nashville and not to go to Antioch for any reason. I've heard and read Franklin in a good town to live in ...but are there university students renting there????
Are there buses going downtown Nashville or you can get there by car only?
Are there venues with live music there in Franklin?
How does it take the commute to Westend Nashville ( Music Row, Vanderbit,Bellmont) by car???

Thank you so much.
