According to the Tennessean there will be 75 people working at the Oreck HQ, and the state gave Oreck $750,000 to come to Nashville. Compared to what Mississippi paid Toyota to go to Tupelo and what Tennessee is probably paying Volkswagen to come to Chattanooga (which is just a guess because it's still a big secret) the $750k they're giving Oreck is a bargain.

Since Oreck had already moved its manufacturing, research & development, and call center operations to Cookeville, I bet they would've moved the company HQ to Nashville anyway.

Oreck moved here back in April, so I'm not really sure why this is news at this time.

They were in quite a state of flux as most people were not relocating from New Orleans. They were recently sold to outside investors. Based on what I gathered from the interview I had they were looking to right the ship for either a public offering or a sale to another company. Katrina put a real hurt on the company.
