New Walmart and Lowes
I had to go to skyline medical thursday and noticed that straight across from the entrance to the hospital there is a new Walmart and Lowes being built.

Yep, I worked at the Dickerson Rd. Kroger several years ago and the biggest fear was that a Walmart would move into the area and kill the store since it didn't do alot of business anyways.
It's going to be a HUGE complex, probably similar to Charlotte Walmart/Lowes only alot more parking.

Is the store in a nice area ? My husband is in upper management for Lowes and is considering applying to transfer there when they begin hiring. He is convinced that we are "tennessee" people. haha. The other night he said something about "When we move to Tennessee..."
We currently live in SW MO (Springfield/Joplin area). Not sure how big of a change it would be from what we are used to. But we are always up for an adventure.

Yes, the new Wal-Mart & Lowe's will be in a decent area. It's directly across the road from a new(ish) hospital, with easy access to Briley Pkwy which can get you to I-65 and I-24 very easily.
Where are you living now?

I would say either the one on Murfreesboro Rd. in Antioch or the one at the corner of Nolensville and Harding.

I wish they'd put the building closer to the street and the parking in the back so it doesn't look like a vast desert of pavement on that corner.

Thanks buddy. I've been going to the Hamilton Chruch cor Murfreesboro. It's a bit of drive from where I am but now it's confirmed it's the closest from the airport. I'm sticking at that branch then.

I don't think they've even started the BUILDINGS yet. They chose a really horrible site to develop that seems to be all rock. They blast every single day and if you are nearby when it happens, it feels like a California earthquake. There was a blasting/debris issue last week on I-65 and I'm betting it came from this site.
I don't know how anyone thinks it's a good location other than easy highway access. Dickerson Pike has two personalities, and the nighttime personality is not one that I care to describe here.
As for the former Kroger worker on Dickerson Pike, we affectionately call that one "ghetto Kroger". I tried to stop there once and had to rush out of there since a bunch of scary people were giving me the once-over like I was their next target.
