LOL! Someone on another forum dismissed me when I said it was 17 degrees at my house last night telling me that I mis-read my therm.

I really dislike cold weather and can't imagine living any further north than here!!!
There's not really all that much difference between the temperatures here and temperatures in NJ. In NJ, it just stays colder longer.

It's the whole winter lasting from September until April thing I have a problem with. Give me a week or 2 with low temps and 3 snow days and I'm good. More than that and I'm ready to move to Hawaii.

Bite your tongue! Don't you know what happens to this place when we get a couple of inches of snow?!? Schools and businesses shut down, food becomes scarce as the public makes a run on all Krogers and Publix stores in sight. The idiots with the 4 wheel drive SUVs come out and terrorize other drivers until they discover that having 4 wheel drive doesn't mean they're invincible and they end up in a ditch, too. It's bedlam, I tell ya!

I was here last year when it snowed a little. If that was it, it was nothing. Try a hurricane and see what happens. Normal people turn into complete animals and it lasts for weeks afterwards. The power always takes weeks and months to restore. After dealing with that, a few crazies on a snow day is a walk in the park LOL!

Hello bnsilly! How is everything in Texas today? My sister in-law lives in Houston and loves it! I don't think she would ever leave. I came here from FL and love it!

Hey Kim...
Things here are good. The weather today is beautiful. Mid 70's, sunny. I am about as far north as you can go in Texas and your sister is about as far south as you can go in Texas..
What's going on today in Tn?? What areas do you all live in? I am interested in checking out the Franklin/Brentwood area..
How far is M'Boro from Nashville?

I can't even imagine what it must be like to live with the threat of hurricanes every year. The people my Mom bought her house from moved to Florida - POrt Charlotte - just before all the hurricanes hit in 2004. They were there 2 days before Charley came along and ripped the roof off their new house and were then slammed with the other storms that followed. They moved back to M'boro last year.
