About health insurance (university, price, moving to)

Hello...
I yet posted a thread about my moving to Nashville.
I'm wondering about insurances ....The health system in the US is quiet different from the one offered in Italy.
So...which are the best and more used insurances? Where to do it?
I'd like mine could cover also the dentist . I may need it.
Are there special offers for students?

If you are going to be a student at a local university you can probably get student health insurance coverage through the university plan. I don't know whether it would cover dental. Many insurance companies may not cover some pre-existing conditions so ask about this.

well not about pre existing conditions...Well I know that!!It's the same here in Italy!
But I may need a dentist if I stay for a long time..That's why I was asking

There are tons of sites that offer student insurance...Car Insurance Rates - Insure.com gives you Car Insurance Quotes, Life Insurance Quotes, News and Advice and others. You will probably get the best price thru the college itself.

are you going to be a student here or will you be working? Most americans get their health insurance through their work and students usually get their insurance through their university. Dental insurance is not always financially beneficial unless you have serious problems that will require expensive work. Once you get here, depending on how you do get your insurance, there are usually a list of specific physicians that you will be allowed to see. I usually recommend at that point to ask for recommendations from co-workers or fellow students.
