If schools are a concern, Williamson County gets the highest test scores in the state. No contest.

A quick analogy of who lives where in the areas you mentioned:

Belle Meade drives a Mercedes, wears a navy blazer, old money.

Green Hills drives a BMW, wears loafers, aspires to live in Belle Meade.

Brentwood drives a Cadillac or SUV, wears a golf shirt, new money.

Franklin drives a pick-up or SUV, wears jeans, landed gentry or people escaping the population explosion of Brentwood.

I am not being snarky.....I grew up in Brentwood, lived there happily until 2001. I now live outside Franklin near the very cool Leiper's Fork.

Macklen,

Don't forget about Antioch, who packs 12 people into a lowrider and thumps up and down the road with musical treats from Fiddy Cent and Mike Jones blaring for all to hear.

Hi Scooterboot,
I am a Realtor, a native middle Tennessean, and mother of four. I think that give me enough qualifications to at least attempt to answer your questions about Tennessee. I have lived all over and currently live in Rutherford County/Murfreesboro, TN. For affordability and convenience to the airport, my first choice would be Rutherford County living in Murfreesboro or Smyrna. My next choice would be Brentwood or Franklin in Williamson County. The ONLY reason these areas would be second is strictly due to housing prices. You can't get better schools than Williamson County, but you will find you get a lot more house in Rutherford County. Both areas are awesome!! I have also lived in Hendersonville and Gallatin in Sumner County, and in Greenbrier and Ridgetop in Robertson County. Both of these areas are also nice but your commute time back to the airport is going to be much longer. There are pros and cons to all the areas. I completely understand about how important schools are when you have children. All of my children attended, or still attend public schools. I have them from currently attending 3rd grade up through college at MTSU. If you would like to privately email me, or call me for more detailed information on the area, please visit my website at (broken link). I'd be happy to answer your questions. No obligation at all ~ really!! I just love to help people relocating to this area and understanding how important and stressful that can be when you have children!! Good luck!

I live in Green Hills, drive a Jaguar (not a BMW), wear 5 inch high heels (not loafers), and think the cool Leiper's Fork resident should put on some shoes, brush her teeth, quite getting pregnant and come shopping at really sophisticated "Green Hills".

Scooter, I would look around Hermitage, Mt. Juliet, and Donelson if you want to keep the commute at 20 mins or less. All 3 are nice areas.

I think you might consider spell check. Low IQs are so annoying.

I live in Green Hills and drive Jag also. My wife and daughter have a BMW so I guess that is right, What in the heck is a leapers fork. Sounds like a some sort of illness. The folks in Franklin are rednecks who cannot afford to live any closer to town.
