Don't you have a house girl/guy Kim? They are assigned to you at the time of closing on your home. It is a Tennessee state law. Please don't tell me they overlooked you?!

Thanks. That is about 1/2 of what I pay here in So Cal, based on the price to tax ratio.

It was supposed to read "you guys." Why I typed "House guys" no one will ever know.

Well, too funny Mike!

On a not so funny note. I am in the city limits. I asked a neighbor and no ones knows why I am not getting billed for these taxes. Good thing I haven't lived here that long. I have to pay two years now (all of last year and next year). I called my realtor to see what he says. Waiting on a call back from him. His wife handled my mortgage at Suntrust. I guess I will contact the city on Monday and catch it all up, to the tune of about $1400, I bet. I have no idea how this could even happen in the first place.

I found the Murfreesboro City Taxes online. My account is there and showing paid for last year. $677 and showing this year 2008 $677 not paid. So they are up to date, but I have no clue why I didn't receive a bill for this amount.

Kim, Could it be included in your Mortgage Payment? Mine is, so I usually receive a form saying this in not a bill

Thanks for nothing Mike ! I had Kim half way fooled that the City of Murfreesboro owed her a House Guy! Now my joke is ruined!

Just wanted you guys who live in Murfreesboro to know what taxes are here in Cannon County. I live in a 1200 sq. ft. home and have 23 acres (all brick with a 1200 sq. ft. basement (partially finished, still working on it), 2 bed/2bath, 2 car detached oversized garage). My bill is $606 (county only). I lived in Smyrna and Murfreesboro for 12 years. If you live outside city limits, you pay only county taxes. Inside city limits you pay city and county taxes. The bill you received is for the year 2008. You have from Oct to Feb to pay these taxes. If you bought a house during the year (let's say May) then your taxes may be pro-rated (if both the seller and buyer agreed). The seller will pay from Jan to April and the buyer will pay from May to Dec. (the seller paid their portion at closing, check your settlement statement). Check out the rutherfordchamber.org to find out how they tax you.
