Default I Need a Job !!! Help!!!

Hi everyone, I moved to the nashville area 2 months ago. I am currently cleaning houses for a company but its a bad situation and I need to get out of it. I have a batchelors degree in broadcast journalims with an emphasis on public relations. I have done all the things like careerbuilder indeed. i have contacted several placement companies and have had 0 response. i have searched the web applied at many many places and can't even get an interview. i did get an interview at MTSU but they hired a graduate. I understand that. What I need to know is do you have any leads, suggestion, recruiters for pr. I am willing to take just about anything right now.

Thanks for your help

My suggestion is to make sure you do not send resumes and cover letters that are as poorly written as your post here. I realize that it may have been typed in haste, but the least you could do is make an attempt to avoid spelling and grammatical errors.

BP300 must be a school teacher. Sure hope I never come across as arrogant when someone is asking for help.

I would assume that when coming on a forum such as this that you could kind of be yourself, and not as professional as you would be as say on a resume or coversheet.

Best of luck on your endeavors of searching for the job you want.

Keep us posted -- good spelling or grammatical errors, you are just human!

When I was new to Virginia, what I did in addition to the usual job sites, was I compiled a list of major companies (I just browsed on google) in the area 30 miles where I was (which was Norfolk). I took in the top 10 first and went to their websites directly and applied there. Then, I continued applying on the sites of the next top 20 and so forth and so on until I got hired.

I got my job there after 2 months, so just hang on. It will come. Just persevere and don't lose trust in yourself.

Good luck!

That's a great suggestion and exactly what my husband did while we still lived in Florida. We looked up every company we could find in his field and mailed resumes to all of them. He got a bite right away, which resulted in a position before we even moved here.

I hope the OP finds something soon. It is scary to be out of work in this economy. Good Luck flewthecoop

Dear BP300,

Your correct in your statement that my post in the City-Data forum was typed in haste. I suppose I was incorrect in assuming that a forum such as this is informal. I assure you with great confidence that my resume and cover letter have been scrutinized by a highly capable professor from the University in which I received my degree. Your advice has been well received.

Sincerely,
Flewthecoop

P.S. Lighten Up!!

Where did you go to school? That is, from what university did you get your degree?
