Diversity and Synagogues in TN (Brentwood: home, university, live)

I am considering moving to TN in the future. Actually, I'm considering anywhere pretty much in the SE except for Atlanta, that is where I live now. My criteria for a place to move is a city with a synagogue and close to a major medical center. The Nashville area fits that bill but I would like to if anyone knows how active the synagogues are there?

Also, I will probably be adopting a child in the next couple of years as well. I have no idea what ethnicity this child might be. But, is Nashville a pretty diverse area, with in reason? I know how to handle blatant racism but I would prefer some diversity.

I'm not Jewish, but the synagogues seem to be very active here. The Jewish community is centered primarily around the west Nashville area; there are three synagogues and a Jewish Community Center in the area.

West Nashville is also home to several large hospitals, as well as the headquarters of HCA.

Most of my friends are Jewish or Jewish/Christian marriages and all are very involved in the Temple Synagogue. They are very happy there and have a huge network and support system. Most of these people work at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Good Luck!

There is also a Synagogue on Old Hickory Blvd in Brentwood. I find the area is very deverse. You won't have any problems. Good Luck with your adoption plans!
