Default Advance Auto in Murfreesboro - A+++

I just wanted to share my experience - I'm not affiliated with Advance Auto in any way nor do I know anyone who works there.

We were getting ready to head out of town this week when I discovered at 7:00PM that one of my headlights was out! We were set to leave early the next morning and I had no idea how to change a headlight bulb, especially in the dark!

I called Advance Auto on Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro and they looked up the part, ensured they had one in stock and told me to come on out. When I got there, the had the light ready at the desk and while I paid for it, one of the other clerks went out and installed it for me! By the time I had paid, my van was ready to go - no extra charge for the install and he wouldn't take a tip.

I usually get auto parts at discount stores or I order online, but from now on, I will be patronizing Advance Auto on Old Fort Parkway.

I agree Mary, they're great to deal with. I go to the one on 231 and I got the exact same treatment. I bought windshield wipers and they showed me the computer screen with 3 different pairs, ranging from $36.00 down to like $8.00. I asked for the middle of the road pair and the clerk told me to take the cheap ones, they are exactly the same. Then he asked if I wanted him to put them on? I looked at him stunned and said okay. I guess so. I'm from FL, so in my mind I'm thinking, this guy is going to bang me in the head and steal my car. LOL!. He put them on and I thanked him, still in shock I left. That doesn't happen in FL. You are lucky if you can get anyone to even take care of you in most places.

I've had a similar experience at the Autozone near Memorial/Northfield as well.

LOL about stealing your car! When i went to pay for the lightbulb, the other guy asked if my van was unlocked so he could go out and install it. I told him it was locked but tossed my keys over to him. He looked stunned for a moment and said he's dealt with so many non-natives lately he wasn't used to locals who would hand over keys like that anymore. I'm just a little too Southern, I guess.

Hello there,we usually don't do the bulbs due to Possible Breakage of the socket or if there is more time involved. But i do them when i can for people who really are stuck. If it's busy it's hard sometimes but i really do try to accommodate the customer and i am glad you had a great experience at Advance... It's nice to hear a good story, happy Holidays from this Advance Employee.

In this economy .. each employee seems to be competing to keep their job. I've noticed friendly service has returned in many places.
