Anyone know of any turkey farms in the area to get a fresh turkey for thanksgiving this year? Would rather support local business than buy from Whole Foods. Let me know!
Thanks,
Erika

West Wind Farms Organic and Grassfed Beef, Lamb, Pork & Poultry

West Wind Farms is located about 2 hours from Nashville. I believe they have a regular booth at the East Nashville Farmers Market every Wednesday. Tried some of their products and they were great.

I have one you can have. Or 2. Shoot, make that a whole flock. Please?

My neighbor 'raises' turkeys as pets. PETS, people! They're not wild and he feeds them grain so I don't think they'd taste too gamey. I'm willing to give it a shot this Thanksgiving. If you don't mind pluckin' and cleanin' 'em, here they are! Cage free, obviously for you PETA types...

Well, my post was an attempt a bringing some humor to the thread and show newcomers just one aspect of Tennessee living. I'm sorry you took it so seriously.

If my neighbor really cared about the welfare of his turkeys, I don't think he'd let them roam all over the place like that. Before I took that photo, they were in my garden pecking away at my vegetables. A few days later, the were in my back yard leaving who knows what kind of droppings and carrying who knows what kind of germs for my children to pick up when they play outside.
