No, of course there's nothing wrong with suggesting the poster check out the area for himself. I was mostly responding to your statement that you "don't believe a lot the posters on here have been to the eastside in many years", which seemed to me to imply that you thought people who were saying East Nashville and the Highlands weren't really comparable didn't know what they were talking about.

The closest thing would be Music Row in my opinion. East Nashville is a no. It may have improved, but i guarantee that it is still more ghetto than anything else.

Don't ignore 12South, Sylvan Park and Hillsboro Village. Those areas are evolving into busy live/work neighborhoods. I love the Belmont Blvd area.

I see the key difference between Louisville's highland ave and comparable areas in Nashville as being everything is concentrated around that nexus in Louisville, while Nashville's bars and "eclectic" shops are spread out around the core.
