The Melting Pot
Is one of my FAVORITE restaurants in Nashville. I love their food and the monthly ladies night specials are a hot spot for my girlfriends and I because it's an appetizer, entree & dessert for $29 and they have $5 drink specials. I am by no means affiliated with them or intentially advertising for them but just wanted to spread the word that their Holiday gift cards are coming soon and you buy $100 and get $100. That's a steal! What are some of y'alls favorite places around town, does anyone know of other restaurants that have a similar gift card promotion? I know the Bound'ry used to have a similar program during the Holidays.

Here's a link to The Nashville Originals. It's a group of locally owned restaurants that have banded together for marketing reasons. They sporadically offer discounted gift cards (ex: $35 for a $50 gift card). I would sign up on the website to get updates. The gift cards are ususally sold out within a couple of hours when they offer.

Thanks Yank! I cross posted on the EN listserv and was referred to Nashville Originals too. I support their concept 100% and will definitely be buying gift cards from them in the future. I'll try to hit it when the quarterly sale has them 30-40% off. It's so important to keep in mind our local business owners when making purchases, thanks again!

We had a great dinner at The Melting Pot in Appleton, WI a few years ago. It was a special occasion and we went all out...it was expensive but worth it!

That's why I love the ladies night $29 is SO very reasonable for ALL of the food you get there.

You may want to try Athens Family Restaurant on 8th South for breakfast. I know they've been voted the best breakfast in the past. I love their Greek food but have never had any of their breakfast items.

I also agree on this restaurant. In NY/NJ you would call this a Diner.

I just looked at the Athens website and menu. This definitely reminds me of the diners back on Long Island. I'm putting this on our list of places to try.

I've received additional information about The Melting Pot Promo and would like to share the details, it's not half priced gift cards as I had initially thought upon first glance when reading Buy $100 Get $100, still a great deal and I will be purchasing, see below:
The promotion gives you four $25 certificates each is good during one quarter of 2009. The certificates are valid toward a four course dinner for two.
**Also, I called The Bound'ry and they won't be having their gift card matching promo this season
