Default Old photos of middle TN

Hey there,

I was curious if anyone has been around the Nashville area over 20 years that could post old pictures of various parts of Nashville, and the surrounding areas including Brentwood, M'Boro, etc.. I really enjoy looking into the history of cities, and seeing what things were like here years ago. They can be from the 50's to the 90's; It doesn't matter.
Anyway, hope to see some soon!

There's a book titled Nashville / Then and Now that you might find interesting. It's full of old photos of various locations around Nashville side-by-side with photographs of the same location taken recently.

If anyone is interested, in JMT's 1974 photo, that is the Hermitage Hotel in the foreground. It has a long and colorful history. Minnesota Fats lived there for the last ten or twenty years of his life.

I can remember seeing Minnesota Fats at the Stock Yard back in the late 80's when they had the nightclub in the basement. I didn't realize he was a resident at the time.

Sometimes The Tennessean Newspaper www.tennessean.com | The Tennessean | Nashville news, community, entertainment, yellow pages and classifieds. Serving Nashville, will display albums of pictures taken over the years by their staff.

There was a group showing downtown Nashville from the 1920's to present they published recently. It was a very interesting album.

You can find them by going to the link above, scroll down the page and looking on the right side under the social pictures. I think they have a group on there from Opryland and Christmas in the 60's in Nashville. They change them out quite often. Hope you can catch them if they do the one of downtown through the ages. You might be able to search their site for those.
