Default Moving from Arizona to Tennessee

Hi,
can anyone give me some advice where to move in Tennessee?

I'm becoming a realtor/loan officer.
I like the outdoors, but also like entertainement.
My pricerange in homes should not be too high
maybe 150 s. I also could commute.

I also like a more late back, alternative, new age scene.
What about Nashville or Chatanooga?
thanks, any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you may like the West End Vanderbilt - Belmont area of town. It is diverse and new agey with a lot of college kids around and plenty of entertainment. Try out the Mid-town concerts on Thursdays in the resturant district off Hillsboro rd area across from Vanderbilt University. Great resturant over there is "the Boundary".
Regarding homes for 150's (good luck- most are starting in the 200's that are worth anything and in a safe neighborhood, if you don't have kids, think about a loft in downtown Nashville, or around Madison area to the north towards goodlettsville you may find something in your price range and still be close to Nashville.
What area of town do you plan to work in? It would make a huge difference on commute times if you knew. Nashville traffic is like Atlanta (slow and dangerous).
Good Luck - I'm from Nashville (far better than Chattanooga).

Dixierooster,
your comment about nothing 150k being worth anything... does that mean homes for families or homes in general? The reason I ask is that a broad search shows me 1000's of smaller older homes in the 75-150k range. Some of course are in the burbs.
We do not have kids, nor plan on it. So for us, a smaller say- 2 bedroom deal would be just fine. What's your thoughts on that? thanks.

You can come to Springfield it is a good town. Also alot of home for your buck. You can find one easy that is nice for 150k. There is some new subdivisions that are very nice being built that has homes for that price.

Silverbox the prices vary depending on area.

Take care

This is true.
The prices around Springfield are very good.
It really all depends on what you want to buy.
You can get some really good bargains with fixer uppers, if you are handy.
Or, you can buy a new home at a really reasonable price.
We want acreage, so, may look into a fixer.
Not sure yet.
Good luck in your search..

I don't know what your "outdoors" likes are. If it is hunting and shooting guns. It sucks here. Not much public land and you can't target shoot on it. Mostly have to go to a range. And they're far and few between. You will miss the open blm and state lands. Most land here somebody owns.
