Default From Greensboro, NC to Nashville?

My husband might get a job transfer from Greensboro, NC to Nashville. I have only visited Nashville a couple of times. I wonder if anyone could comment on the similarities and differences between Nashville and Greensboro. We will be looking for a relatively inexpensive, yet safe and nice apartment in Nashville. We are in our 40s and live quietly, so the bar/social scene is of absolutely no concern to us. We have no children, so ditto school districts. We are accustomed to living close to all sorts of shopping, plentiful movie theaters, many diverse restaurants and lots of pretty public parks. Can we expect the same in Nashville?

I moved here from Raleigh in June. I am single in my forties and live quietly also. I am in west Nashville. My first priority was safety and then quiet. I am very happy here. I live in an apartment complex at the end of West Meade beginning of Bellevue. I feel very safe! The rent is about the same as I paid in Raleigh, but I have a bigger apartment here. I love Nashville! You will find all the amenities that you want here. And, the parks are great! I wasn't so crazy about the energy of Raleigh. It's a nice city, but not for me. I have been to Greensboro many times and still have some family and a couple of friends there. I always thought it was nicer than Raleigh, more laid back and comfortable.

Thank you, Eescapes! I am getting very excited about our possible transfer to Nashville, and I am happy to hear that there is affordable housing there. I really appreciate your response.

Hi Eescapes ~ may I ask you about the "energy of Raleigh?" I'm used to the energy of a city like Philly or NYC. Is Raleigh in that mode?

My DH and I will be checking out both Raleigh as well as Nashville (and other places) next year. Your comment about Raleigh interests me, would you mind elaborating? Thanks!
