Red face Nashville Bound

My best friend and I are planning to move to Nashville this summer. I live in Brooklyn, NY and she lives in CT. We've had enough of the east coast and are ready to make a change. (Did I mention we LOVE country music?) We're looking for any advice we can get on areas to live, jobs, etc. We want to find someplace close to the downtown area but not directly in it. If anyone can offer any words of wisdom it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You should come to the CMA Music Festival in early June and look around.

There's several choices that might interest you: Midtown (near the Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities area), Edgefield, Sylvan Park . . . a lot depend on how much you're want to pay for housing.

Nashville has a fairly vibrant economy and low unemployment; but again, a lot would depend on you. What skills, experience, and/or education do you have?

We're visiting the first week of May. We couldn't get CMA week off from work.

My degrees is in Illustration and I currently work as a Customer Support Manager for a publishing company in Manhattan. I have thirteen years of customer service experience. My friend has worked as a retail manager in CT for about the same amount of time but she's finishing a degree in psychology/social work.

Edgefield and Germantown is one of the areas we're thinking about. Price range we're looking at is about $1000 or less for a two bedroom.
