Well let me clarify for everyone what I meant. I stay about 25 miles away from D.C. in Waldorf, MD. I live in a townhouse that is 1300 sq feet and I pay 260,000 for the house. The taxes come out to be 1800 a year. Now note I do have common sense and realize that Nashville is cheaper and a better value. I have two kids and I would love to pay 210,000-220,000 for a 2300 sq foot + with a yard. I just want the little ones to be able to run freely if they wanted to. Can really do that in my current home. Plus the beauty of all of this for me is that my commute time would be cut down. Without traffic it would take me about 45 mins to get to work. With traffic that can go to an hour and 15-20 mins. So I just wanted to clarify that I'm well aware that Nashville is cheaper. My thought was that there were a lot of new homes that were selling for 150,000-180,000 range.

There are.

You just have to find them. I doubt you'll find them that close to Nashville but you'll def. find them in the burbs, esp. out towards Murfreesboro, Spring Hill, and Columbia...
