What are the best family-friendly housing areas in Hendersonville sub-$150s? We currently own a home in East Nashville, but are interested in moving in the next couple of years. Thanks!

For $150K or less, you're looking at a place off Evergreen Circle or in the Oakvale subdivision off Old Shackle. They are a not the most aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods, but they are perfectly safe and family-friendly. You might be able to squeak into Glen Oaks at that price, depending on what's on the market when you decide to move.

If you are willing to open up your search to condos, your options will be more extensive. There are a few on the market in The Maples in your price range, and this will put you in the desired Nannie Berry Elementary, Ellis Middle, and Hendersonville High School district.

Thanks! We definitely are thinking safe, school districts, and good areas to walk/recreation, etc. Great advice.

We looked in Hendersonville and were not impressed by what we saw in the <$150k range. Everything we looked at in this price range needed a complete rehab. I agree that condos are easier to find, but that wasn't an option for us.

Hendersonville isn't exactly a poor neighborhood. Finding alot of options for less than $150k is going to be pretty hard.

However, there really is no bad neighborhood in Hendersonville. Hendersonville Police make sure of that.

I live off Bonita in The Maples. Best neighborhood in town. Pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a park, open fields, sidewalks, etc. This is where you want to be.

Bonita Parkway is near the Lake, it's fine over there. Like someone mentioned above there really aren't any bad neighborhoods in Hendersonville.

Pimpy this has nothing to do with anything but I KNEW you lived in The Maples, just from your posts & descriptions, I nailed it down to the subdivision.

Not bad. Now you've got an excuse to come up to Big Looy's (best pizza in H'ville) for a large pizza, extra anchovies -- just how I like it.
